Our History
Inderøy Brenneri is a proud revival of a long tradition of aquavit production in the picturesque municipality of Inderøy, located in Trøndelag, Norway. The roots of distillation in this region can be traced back to Sundnes Brenneri, established in 1844, which was one of the oldest distilleries in Trøndelag. For over 150 years, Sundnes produced aquavit, but was closed in 1900 due to financial challenges and changes in legislation.
After a long break of 116 years, Inderøy Brenneri was founded with the aim of bringing back the local aquavit tradition. In 2016, we launched our first aquevit, which marked a significant milestone in our commitment to reviving and renewing traditional Norwegian spirits.
